We’ve released a minor version release today (v 5.2.0.086) to address the following issues related to the message editor:

Merge fields sometimes inserted incorrectly into Subject line instead of body – fixed

List Templates checkbox value not being saved/restored correctly – fixed

No save changes prompt when closing editor after editing a previously saved message – fixed

Delete key and keyboard shortcuts for Copy and Paste didn’t function in Windows Vista/7 – fixed

Deleting a user saved template in thumbnail view results in switch to list view – fixed

In some cases saving user HTML templates didn’t update display without restarting app – fixed

So if you were scratching your head as a result of any of the above issues, download the latest version (and stop scratching!)

As always, if you have an older version of GroupMail and want to upgrade to the latest and greatest, all you have to do is renew the Upgrade Protection on your existing license. This will give you access to download the latest version and any new updates released during the next 12 months.

Windows 7 is taking the world by storm. As a result, many GroupMail users need to transfer their settings to the new OS.

The paths to the GroupMail Data Folders have changed on Windows 7. Therefore to Move GroupMail from a Windows XP Machine to a Windows 7 Machine, please do the following:

Install the latest Version of GroupMail on your Windows 7 PC, you can download and install this from the Customer Resources Area

Ensure GroupMail is closed on both machines.

On the Windows 7 PC. Go to C:\Users\User Account\AppData\Local and delete the Infacta Folder from here.

On your Windows XP PC go to C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Infacta copy the Infacta Folder and paste it to the Windows 7 PC to the folder C:\Users\User Account\AppData\Local

Now if you open GroupMail on the Windows 7 PC all your data should be available.

Well tomorrow is the official launch date for Microsoft Windows 7 and from playing around with beta versions since April and more recent releases it appears to be a much less troublesome animal that its infamous predecessor that shall remain nameless (don’t mention the war).

We have a new release of GroupMail (version 5.2.0.80) that supports Windows 7, for people using GroupMail Personal/Business Editions or Marketing Pack the new version is available for download from the customer system.

The GroupMail :: Free Edition is available for download here.

Any problems you come across using it with Windows 7 or otherwise, as always let us know.

Aside from the new OS support not an awful lot to shout about in the new version, a few bug fixes including an update that resolves a number of problems when deleting recipients / processing opt-outs when your mailing list is stored in an external database (e.g. SQL Server/MySQL etc).

So unless your upgrading to Windows 7, not too many reasons to upgrade your version of GroupMail. We’re aiming to have a more substantial release out in the next few weeks with a number of exciting additions/improvements – I’ll post more details on these separately.
